Hello and welcome!
Whether you’re already a member of Legend or you’re stopping by in interest, let me assure you that the conduct of those of us in Legend is of the utmost importance to me and those that have, and continue to, make Legend into what it is and what it will become. While we are a kinship of many personalities, and we celebrate our differences, it is important to us all that our kinship be associated with terms like honor, decency, and honesty. Each member’s attitude, actions, words, and conduct reflect not only upon themselves, but in fact the entire kinship. It is therefore every member’s responsibility to conduct themselves in such a way that will bring honor and pride to the name of Legend, its members and the MMORPG community as a whole. However, if you should ever witness a member of Legend behaving in such a way as to discredit our name, please contact an officer of Legend immediately or send me an in-game mail or an email at Betha@wearelegend.net with the members name, a description of the offense, and the means in which you wish to be contacted. The situation will be investigated immediately and appropriate action will be taken.
You have my sincerest pledge that I will do all I can to assure that all of us in Legend are seen in the highest esteem and regarded with the utmost admiration.

The Purpose of this Code of Conduct
This Code of Honor outlines the standard of behavior expected of a member of Legend. It is designed to help members and those wishing to become members understand their responsibilities and obligations, and also to provide guidance if they are faced with an ethical dilemma or conflict of interest. Familiarize yourself with this Code and observe its provisions. Members who breach the standards of conduct detailed in this Code may face disciplinary action.
A Code of Honor cannot cover every situation. If you are unsure of the appropriate action to take in a particular situation, discuss the matter with your kinship, in the forum or with an officer or the leader of Legend directly.
Core Beliefs
Treat all people with whom you have contact in the course of play fairly, and with courtesy and sensitivity. Act with propriety and be able to demonstrate this in relation to any advice or service you give. You must be able to justify any decisions you make.
You have a principal responsibility to implement and administer the policies and programs of Legend. You may hold views on particular matters that differ, but such views must not interfere with your behavior and conduct in LOTRO or the MMORPG community in general. Always act in the best interests of your kinship rather than for the benefit of personal interests.
Perform within fellowships and raids diligently, impartially and responsively, to the best of your ability. You must never harass anyone or discriminate on any grounds. Treat all people fairly. Base actions, decisions and advice on a consideration of all relevant facts, and implement Legend’s policies and programs equitably. Maintain your kinship’s trust by acting in it’s best interest. Do not discriminate against anyone on grounds such as age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion, race, or national origin.
Guiding Principals
Members of Legend are guided by and agree to the following principals and rules:
1. I understand that Legend represents individuals who are, have been and will always be of the best character.
2. I will treat all kin, kinships and individuals who play and conduct themselves with virtue with honor.
3. As a member of Legend, I will be a role model for all members of my guild behaving in a way that shows respect to both others and myself.
4. At all times I will honor the kinship, its officers and leader in my words, deeds, and actions.
5. I will support the decisions of my kinship’s officer and leadership and will present grievances in a mature, respectful manner.
6. I will avoid all extreme or profane language unless there is a clear understanding between myself and the other guild mates that are online at the time that such language is not offensive. I will also take into account others in the immediate area that might be offended by my words. If someone lets me know they are offended by my language I will end such speak immediately and without bias.
7. I will make every attempt in my power to get along with my guild mates.
8. I will create a friendly, welcoming environment for all initiates, members, and visitors ~ unless a visitor has arrived with negative intentions.
9. If a non-guild member insults my guild, any guild mate, or my Guild Master, I will support and protect the honor of my guild even if the non-guild member is my friend.
10. I will not allow disruptive people to interfere with guild events or gatherings. If a disruptive individual is my friend, I will be responsible for speaking with the person causing the disruption and correcting the situation.
11. I have joined the Legend family and will help to create a friendly and supportive environment within the guild.
12. I will do my best to resolve fights, disagreements, or offenses that involve either me or other guild mates in mature and respectful manner.
13. When attending guild hunts, meetings, or events I will follow the instructions of the leader and will respect the rules and regulations of the situation at hand.
14. I will not attack another guild member unless there is an agreement to spar or practice PvP.
15. I will allow an officer or the guild leader to try and resolve any of my personal grievances before I decide to leave in anger.
16. I am a valued member of Legend and will offer my skills, my knowledge, and my talents toward continuously improving the quality of the kinship.
17. I will not intentionally take advantage of other players clearing an area to get to a harvesting node, quest item, named mob or other circumstances by harvesting the node, tagging the mob or otherwise without prior permission of those clearing the area.
18. I will follow the rules in which any and all fellowships that I participate in regards to “loot”, pulling, crowd control, healing, etc.
19. I will follow a “need before greed” looting policy. If I happen to get a drop that someone else in the fellowship can use on the character that they are in the fellowship with and the character that I am in the fellowship cannot, I will gladly hand the drop over to the other fellowship member if they let me know or I am otherwise informed that they could use the item.
Policies and Procedures
It is the policy of Legend to deal with infractions of our rules and principles in measurement with the seriousness of the circumstances. While violation of Legend’s rules and procedures are usually dealt with on a per incident basis, the seriousness of the infraction and the history of the kin involved are taken into consideration when deciding what course of action the kinship’s officer and leader will take. Possible responses to violation of rules and principles include but are not limited to:
• A private discussion with a kinship officer or leader.
• If applicable, retribution and/or compensation for items, time, and effort in relation to the incident.
• Requirement of a “public” apology to the offended persons in the incident.
• The issuance of a warning against future violation of the same rule(s)
• The issuance of a warning or probation against future violations of any rule or policy.
• Removal from the kinship
These responses are in no particular order and are subject to change at the discretion of Legend, it’s officers and/or it’s leader. By joining Legend you agree to the principles, rules, policies and procedures. |
