General
At the heart of any kinship you will find it’s philosophy. It determines what kind of people will be part of that kinship. Likewise the type of players that are part of a kinship help shape that kinship’s personality, success and reputation. In the end those that are not legend will not, and should not, be able to distinguish one for the other. Our kin are not only responsible for themselves, but they are responsible for, and to, their kinmates as well. Those who are Legend share the core belief that a kinship is best when it’s based not only mutual respect and cooperation, but also friendship, camaraderie, and generosity. Generosity doesn't have to mean money, or things, or even time. A generous attitude can be as easy as taking a quick second to help a guild mate with a quest or answer a quick question. A sincere desire to make the kinship a better place by doing what each of us can to make sure we're ALL enjoying ourselves is really the foundation of a solid kinship.
Game Play
A cornerstone in the foundation of Legend’s convictions is the belief that people play best when they play what they like the most. Our members are a mix of classes, races and levels. Those in Legend enjoy the type of play style that they enjoy most, whether that’s strictly PvE, PvP, crafting or a mix of any number of those elements. There is no requirement, there is no expectation that our members participate in any type of game play that they do not enjoy. However there are game play styles that are not welcome in Legend. Those that derive their gaming pleasure by intentionally inhibiting others play or someone who takes pleasure in creating grief for another player via various "cheap" tactics (aka “griefing”) will not be welcome in Legend and should they slip into our kinship through guise and deceit, will soon find themselves quickly cast out. There is more on this subject in Legend’s Code of Conduct.
Grouping and Socializing
It is our strong belief that kinmates that play together often will find themselves able to overcome difficult obstacles more efficiently, with fewer casualties and more enjoyment than those that group with strangers on a consistent basis. Therefore, while it is not required, we encourage all of our members to seek groups within the kinship before seeking out random “pick up groups.” We also facilitate communication within kin groups by hosting our own Ventrilo server, which is used for both for guild events and grouping as well as casual conversation between kinmates. Further we encourage all of our members to openly chat, joke, discuss and socialize within the various formats we offer our kinmates such as kinchat and our forums. As long as the content isn’t laden with obscenities, too controversial, or blatantly intended as antagonistic you should never witness a kinmate being asked to refrain from speaking in a particular way or about a particular subject. Simply put respect those that you’re having a conversation with and around and you’re free to speak as much as you like. Oh, and bring your sense of humor. ;) |
